Though this may not be a typical original South Indian delicacy, this dish is very healthy and popular in cold weather places.
- Cauliflower 1 medium to large
- Potatoes 2
- Onion 2
- Grated coconut 1 tab spoon
- Pepper 1 tsp
- Salt to taste.
Cut the Cauliflower into small florets. Peel and dice the potatoes. Slice the onions into thin slivers.
Grind the pepper and the coconut to a thick coarse paste. You can add coriander leaves if desired while grinding.
In a kadai, add a teaspoon of oil and add the mustard. After it splutters add the chopped onions and fry till it becomes golden brown. Add the diced potatoes and saute with oil and cook with a lid over the kadai. The potatoes will start to become soft. Add the cauliflower and continue the cooking with the lid closed.Sprinkle a little water. The steam from the water will cook the cauliflower and the potato. Once they are cooked to your desired consistency add the pepper and the coconut nix and keep turning thoroughly till they get mixed.
