Avarakkai kootu - Pathiyam (Diet)for new mothers

Ingredients:
- Broad Beans or Avarakkai 1/2 kilograms
- Toor Dal or Moong dal cooked 1/2 to 1 cup
- Urad dal 2 teaspoon
- Black peppers 1 teaspoon
- Jeera 1 teaspoon
- Hing a pinch
- Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
- Curry Leaves a few
- Salt to taste
Preparation: (Easy method)
- Using a few drops of oil and roast the urad dal, black peppers and jeera, till the dal turns to golden brown.
- Grind the above along with coconut.
- Using a pressure cooker put in the cut beans ,add the dal, the ground paste,hing powder and pressure cook for 5 minutes.
- Season with mustard seeds and serve hot.
You can use the same procedure for preparing poricha kootu using 'Pudalangai' ( snake gourd ),
